The Holy Land Incoming Tour Operators Association (HLITOA) held its annual meeting on Monday, June 6th to discuss the association’s strategy and review the most prominent activities and achievements implemented during the past period. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Hani Al-Hayek, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Saleh Tawafsha, and participated in by members of the association.
During the meeting, the association reviewed its vision and action plan for the upcoming phase. An extensive discussion took place regarding the unprecedented challenges facing the tourism sector in Palestine and the region, as well as ways to enhance the sector’s resilience and restore tourism activity.
His Excellency the Minister emphasized the importance of joint cooperation between the Ministry and the private sector, stressing the need to diversify target tourism markets rather than relying on specific ones, and to work on opening new markets that contribute to accelerating the sector’s recovery. He also affirmed that the Ministry will continue to provide all possible support and assistance to the tourism sector, despite the difficult financial circumstances facing the Palestinian government.
For its part, the association confirmed its commitment to continuing its work with the Ministry and all local and international partners to reposition Palestine on the global tourism map and develop initiatives that contribute to attracting more pilgrims and visitors to the Holy Land.
The meeting concluded with a dinner held at the Oasis Resort (Raha Resort) in the city of Jericho. The association extends its deepest thanks and appreciation to Mr. Rami Kereitem for his generous hospitality and warm reception, wishing him continued success and prosperity in managing the new hotel, and hoping it will serve as a qualitative addition to the Palestinian tourism sector.
